Excerpt from the Chancellor\u00b4s letter on the passing away:<\/h5>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

It is my sad duty to inform you of the passing of our Order Knight Mag. Gerhard Erik Mitrovits, who left us unexpectedly on 1 April 2025 at the age of 71.\r\n
 
Born in Burgenland, he began his impressive career as an apprentice in cookery and quickly progressed to management positions at Hyatt, InterContinental, Steigenberger and most recently Kempinski. He made significant contributions to the opening of four hotels in Cairo, Taipei, Jakarta and Saudi Arabia and is a holder of the Decoration of Honour for Services to the Republic of Austria. After working at Kempinski – he returned to Austria in 2017 after 40 years abroad to manage the Palais Hansen Kempinski in Vienna – he left the hotel industry and set up his own consulting company.\r\n\r\n
 
Our Order Knight Gerhard was invested into the Order in 2021 in Lilienfeld Abbey, belonged to the Commandery Wien – Sch\u00f6nbrunn and made some deep friendships during his unfortunately very short time in the Order.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

My and our sincere condolences go to the relatives and all the loved ones of our Order Knight.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
