Excerpt from the Chancellor\u00b4s letter on the passing away:<\/h5>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

As some of you may already have heard in the media, I regret to inform you of the passing of a member of our Spiritual Council, H.Em. Cardinal Dominik Jaroslav Duka, who died on 4 November 2025 at the age of 82.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

H.Em. Cardinal Duka celebrated the solemn Mass for us at the Order Convent in Prague in April 2022 and at the Order Convent in Speyer in April 2024, and we were proud to welcome him into the Spiritual Council of our Order at a special ceremony at our Order Residence in November 2023.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

\u2018A fighter for the faith and a defender of chivalrous values!\u2019 \u2013 this is how our Grand Master Karl von Habsburg described the Archbishop Emeritus of Prague and Primate of Czechia during his investiture, and this is exactly how we have come to know him in recent years.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

His impressive life cannot be summarised in a few lines, and I am grateful that our Czech Commander, Dr. Milan Novak, who was always in close contact with H.Em. Cardinal Duka, has compiled an overview of his fulfilling life, which I am pleased to enclose with this message. The many media reports paying tribute to the life and attitude of H.Em. Cardinal Duka clearly show what an incredible personality we had in our ranks.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

My and our sincere condolences go out to all the relatives, friends and companions of our dear departed.<\/p>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
