The head of the Islamic Community of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Grand Mufti Dr. Husein Kavazović, received the Procurator of the Order of St. George, Baron Vinzenz von Stimpfl-Abele, in Sarajevo for extensive discussions on 27 August 2025. In his welcoming remarks, the Reisu-l-Ulema – a position established by Emperor Franz Joseph – described the Habsburg era of his homeland as an era of modernisation and praised the Islam Law enacted by Emperor Franz Joseph in 1912 as a milestone in European legal development.
