The focus of the 2023 end-of-year event, which took place on 7 December, was on the history, heritage and legacy of the archducal house on the one hand, and its tasks, challenges and opportunities in the present and future on the other.

This year’s year-end event entitled “2022 – Conflicts, Crises, Confrontations” took place on November 30, 2022 in the Vienna Broadcast Studios.
On November 19, 2022, Commander Wilhelm von Zitzewitz welcomed over 20 Dames and Knights of the Order as well as guests to the Commandery meeting in Anif.
After a long involuntary break, at the end of November the Serbian Commandery held another meeting in which the course for the future was set and the community spirit revived.

On April 5, 2022, Dr. Alexander Biach – former Chairman of the Board of the Main Association of Austrian Social Insurance Institutions – was guest speaker at the meeting of the Commandery Wien-Hofburg.
This event took place on April 7, 2022 of invitation of the Dutch delegation in ‘s-Hertogenbosch at The Gallery by FlexLabs, as well as online.
On April 1, 2022, a festive commemorative mass was held in the Salesian Sisters’ Church in Vienna on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the death of the beatified last Austrian Emperor.

On December 16, 2021, Czech commander Dr. Milan Novák presented in Kaiserstein Palace in Prague a new book: Karl I. – Saint and the last king in Bohemia.
On November 30, 2021, the big year-end event of the Order of St. George took place in the form of a top-class panel discussion.
The extraordinary General Assembly 2021 of the “SOCIETY OF THE KNIGHTS OF THE ORDER OF ST. GEORGE” could be held – due to the current Corona situation under the strictest conditions – on 16 November 2021.
On November 14, 2021, the Austrian Cavalry Association was a guest at the residence of the Order of St. George in Vienna and hold its autumn conference there. The theme of the conference was the “Pan-European Movement”, presented by its Secretary General Rainhard Kloucek.
Priv.-Doz. Dr. Aho Shemunkasho gave insights into the Tur Abdin on November 10, 2021 and showed how this valuable legacy can still be saved.
On November 8th, 2021 almost 30 members of the Order accepted the invitation of Vice Chancellor Gerald Ebinger to the opening event of the new Commandery Wien – Arsenal.
After several corona-related postponements, the Commandery of Great Britain and Northern Ireland was particularly pleased to finally be able to hold their traditional anniversary event again from October 29 to 31, 2021.

On September 1, 2021, HIRH Ferdinand von Habsburg and procurator Baron Vinzenz von Stimpfl-Abele met for a conversation in the order’s residence, to which the archduke had also brought the impressive trophy of the legendary Le Mans 24-hour race, which he won this year.

On July 21, 2021 the Czech Commandry hosted an event in the dignified setting of Chateau Nimerice, which is located 30 minutes outside of Prague. The Grand Master of the Order of St. George HIRH Karl Habsburg-Lorraine visited the city of Wels on 20 March to open the special exhibition “Maximilian I. Emperor – Reformer – Human Being” in the Castle’s City Museum and the redesigned Sisi Pavilion in the Lichtenegg Castle Park.

On January 21, 2019 the Three-Wise-Men meeting of the Order of St. George took place again this year in the town hall in Korneuburg. More than 70 Dames and Knights of the St. George Order accepted the invitation of the Commandery Niederösterreich-Heldenberg in the festival hall of the city of Korneuburg.
For the second time, the Soirée of the Vienna Commanderies took place on January 19, 2019 at the Vienna Grand Hotel, and for the second time the event was completely sold out.
The rush was enormous. Knights and Dames from near and far travelled to St. George’s Cathedral in Wiener Neustadt on January 12, 2019 to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the death of Emperor Maximilian I on this Saturday afternoon.

The fact that the Order of St. George held its religious day in Zagreb almost exactly a hundred years to the day after the constitutional relations between Croatia and the Austro-Hungarian monarchy had ended, increased the symbolic power of the event enormously.
In the commemorative year 2018, a Kaiser Karl Memorial Mass was held in Biedermannsdorf on October 21, followed by the laying of a wreath in front of the Kaiser Karl Chapel.
On October 20 and 21, 2019, the ceremony of the solemn inauguration of a relic of the blessed Emperor Charles was celebrated on Mount Odile near Strasbourg.
