It is with great sadness that we have received news of the passing of our Order Knight Prof. mult. August Plocek, who passed away completely unexpectedly on February 5, 2013 at the age of 84. We extend our sincere condolences to the relatives of our brother.
Excerpt from his biography:
Prof. mult. August Plocek studied sculpture, commercial graphics, painting, interior design and stage painting at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Graz. After working as a commercial artist, he had been active as a painter, graphic designer and exhibition architect from 1950 onwards, above all in the cultural field – both at home and abroad.
His involvement in the design of “Eureka”, the largest world fair for research and development in Brussels, is one of the highlights of his long artistic career.
Prof. Plocek dedicated an image of St. George to the Order of St. George.
