Excerpt from his biography:

After studying theatre and art history, Prof. Gerhard Tötschinger trained as an actor and also as a professional singer. He made a name for himself not only as an actor, but also backstage: Since 1973 he has worked as an artistic director at various theatres, most recently taking over the artistic directorship of the Perchtoldsdorf Summer Festival from 1999 to 2002.

Above all he became known for his work as the presenter of the quiz programme “Quiz in Rot-Weiß-Rot”, which ran on ORF from 1978 to 1988. Prof. Gerhard Tötschinger was also active as an author and wrote several books on the history of Austria.
