Protection of cultural heritage in Ukraine

The speaker, Ministerial Councillor Manfred Pinnegger B.Sc. M.A., was commander of the Austrian Federal Ministry of the Interior contingent in the European Union Advisory Mission (EUAM) Ukraine from October 2021 to July 2023. In this role, he was an international expert responsible for providing technical advice and support to the Ukrainian security services in the field of cultural property protection. In his lecture, he will also describe the process of evacuating the mobile cultural assets to Austria as well as their storage and safeguarding during the war.

I would like to kindly invite you to visit the “Hermesvilla” in the Lainzer Tiergarten. We will learn about the private life of the imperial family, as well as numerous personal objects and memorabilia.
Directions: Bus route 56B from Hietzing directly to Lainzer Tor (car park available)
Meeting point: Saturday, 8 June 2024 at 1 pm at the Lainzer Tor – the walk to the “Hermesvilla” on a flat path takes approx. 15 minutes.

The lecturer currently heads the OÖ Landes-Kultur GmbH with the large museums of the province of Upper Austria as commercial director and is the designated commercial director of the Fachhochschule Oberösterreich with faculties in Linz, Wels, Steyr and Hagenberg.
