The year 2026 is a special anniversary year for the Austrian capital, Vienna, marking two significant anniversaries:
- 330th anniversary of the k.u.k. Infanterieregiment ‘Hoch- und Deutschmeister’ (founded on 15 March 1695 by a charter issued by Emperor Leopold I and Elector Johann Wilhelm of the Palatinate, and incorporated into imperial service on 3 June 1696)
- 20th anniversary of the Jägerbataillon Wien 1 ‘Hoch- und Deutschmeister’ (formed on 1 July 2006)
These two anniversaries were celebrated on 18 June 2026 with a festive ceremony at Stephansplatz in Vienna.
