A silent enemy, hidden internally, can make the difference between life and death. On the evening of 26 June 2025, the Commandery Wien-Arsenal invited to the venerable Order Residence of the Order of St. George for a lecture aimed at drawing attention to the invisible danger in the abdomen. Welcomed by Commander Ing. Patrick Lichtblau, Univ.-Prof. Dr. Gerd Silberhumer offered insights into a topic that affects not only medical experts, but every individual: bowel cancer. Prof. Silberhumer drew a vivid picture of why the disease often remains undetected, especially in the early stages, and how modern screening tests can put a stop to the invisible killer in time.
