Speech on the Future of Europe

The traditional Speech on the Future of Euorpe by our Grand Master will this year again be held as a matinee, which will be broadcast online in two languages (German/English).
For us, as the Order of the House of Habsburg-Lorraine, this event is particularly important because it sets our direction and, not least, because Archduke Karl will address the 2025 General Theme ‘INTEGRITY. DIRECTION. HOPE.’ We are also looking forward to guest speaker Andrej Plenkovic, Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia.
In addition, there will of course be another opportunity to congratulate our Grand Master on his birthday in this context.

The European Union: A Project of Hope or a Hopeless Case?

The Power of Hope

With his new general theme, the Grand Master also refers to the motto that Pope Francis chose for the Holy Year 2025: PILGRIMS OF HOPE
in the spirit of the coming Jubilee Year the Order of St. George will hold its first event in Rome under the title ‘THE POWER OF HOPE’. The programme includes a festive service celebrated by H. Em. Cardinal Kurt Koch, an evening where we will discuss the meaning of hope from a chivalrous point of view, and a highly interesting keynote speech that provides exciting insights behind the scenes of the Vatican.
Due to the limited capacity of the event location, the number of participants is also limited. There are only a few places left, please book on a ‘first come first serve’ basis. Reservations are only valid after positive confirmation.
The event will mainly be held in English.

With this event, the Delegation Slowakei is commemorating the 35th anniversary of the fall of the Iron Curtain. Procurator Vinzenz von Stimpfl-Abele will give an introductory keynote speech. Afterwards, historian Dr. Beata Katrebova Blehova will speak on the subject of ‘The Iron Curtain and the Slovakian struggle for freedom’.
Both lectures are in German. There is the possibility of a common dinner on site.
